Lieke holds a Ph.D. in Education and is an experienced researcher in education and literacy. She has ten years of professional experience in educational capacity building projects in developing countries. She was involved in educational projects in Ghana, Ethiopia, Mozambique and Yemen in which she worked with a variety of partners: ministries of education, universities, teacher training institutions and quality assurance organizations.
She is presently an affiliated researcher at the department of Discourse studies at Radboud University Nijmegen (The Netherlands) and employed as external advisor at the Department of Linguistics of the University of South Africa (UNISA) in Pretoria.
Professional Skills:
Research skills: educational design research, qualitative and quantitative research methods in educational settings.
Teaching/training skills: Taught several Bachelor courses in the area of cross-cultural discourse and research methods at VU University Amsterdam. Also trained academic staff from various institutions abroad in the area of educational design research and quality assurance in education.
Project management skills: Financial management, progress monitoring, evaluation and assessment, acquisition and contracting, writing tender proposals, project communication and cooperation with key stakeholders.
