Eileen brings over 15 years of global consulting and management experience in access to finance, with a heavy focus on skills transfer.
Over the past 18 months, Eileen has been based in Mozambique, providing on-going technical support to inclusive financial sector programs of KfW, Swiss Development Cooperation and FSD MoÌ (funded by DFID and KfW).
These projects range from advisory services to the Bank of Mozambique in the promotion of SME finance, to the development of a gender and SME finance strategy for FSD MoÌ, to a newly launched project with the support of KfW aimed at increasing the distribution of rural ATMs and POS in coordination with SIMO. Additionally, she has carried out national studies on access to finance for DFID and DEG, as well as punctual technical support to USAID/Agrifuturo. In addition to local programming, Eileen oversees the technical quality of Ayani's research and advisory services, and has backstopped programming in seven countries as well as several regional programs, including responsibility for the entire project management cycle, fielding, managing and signing off on work, as well as coordination with the clients. Prior her role at Ayani, she was responsible for the transformation of the Global Communities (formerly CHF) microfinance network MFIs from non-profit status to subsidiaries of a commercially-oriented holding company, the Vitas Group. She also oversaw the negotiations and closure of $75 million in debt and equity to the organizations subsidiaries. She has consulted on inclusive financial issues in over 30 countries ranges including serving as Project Director for national-level inclusive sector financial projects in DRC and Sierra Leone. She speaks English, Portuguese and French.
